Windows

Good uPVC, fitted well.

Most of the windows we replace are uPVC fitted in the nineties and early 2000s. The frames are often still sound; it is the misting sealed units, dropped hinges and perished seals that tell you they have had their time. Modern uPVC is a different product — better profiles, better glass and far better locks.

We fit REHAU and VEKA systems for casement windows, and The Residence Collection where a house suits a timber-look flush sash. Every window is made to measure after Carl has surveyed each opening himself.

Fitting is done one opening at a time: old frame out, new frame in, fixed, sealed and made good before we move on — so the house is never left open and is secure every evening.

Options

Styles and options.

Casement

The standard British window — side and top-opening sashes in a sculptured or chamfered profile. Suits almost any house.

Flush sash

Sashes that sit flush inside the frame, like a traditional timber window. The Residence Collection's timber-alternative windows are the premium version.

Colours & woodgrain

White, cream, anthracite, black and woodgrain foils. Anthracite outside with white inside is the most common change we make.

Glazing

Double glazing as standard, with triple, obscure, acoustic and safety glass where the room needs it.

Security

Multipoint locking, internally beaded glass and lockable handles.

Ventilation & escape

Trickle vents where Building Regulations require them, and escape hinges on first-floor bedroom windows.

In detail

What a proper fit looks like.

Measured, not guessed
Every opening measured individually. Brick-to-brick sizes vary more than people expect, even along one elevation.
Fixed to the structure
Frames fixed through into the masonry and packed at the fixing points — not just held in with foam.
Sealed inside and out
Cills bedded, external silicone cut clean, and internal reveals or trims made good.
Old frames removed
Taken away the same day, along with the glass, packaging and offcuts.
Compliance covered
Installations are carried out to Assure Certified Installer standards, with Building Regulations compliance confirmed in writing.

Questions

UPVC windows: your questions.

How long do uPVC windows last?

A well-made, well-fitted uPVC window will usually give twenty to thirty years or more. The first things to go are typically the sealed units and hinges — often repairable without replacing the frame.

Can I have a colour outside and white inside?

Yes, and it is the most common choice we fit: anthracite grey, black or woodgrain outside, white inside.

How long does it take to fit a house of windows?

A full house is typically two to three days, depending on the number of openings. A few windows can often be done in a day.

Do I need Building Regulations approval?

Replacement windows have to comply with Building Regulations for thermal performance, ventilation, safety glazing and means of escape. Compliance is covered as part of our installation and confirmed in writing with your quotation.
