Hillside terraces
Steep streets and narrow pavements mean deliveries and parking are planned before fitting day. Large bifold and slider panes may need extra hands to get round to the back.

From terraces in Uplands to new builds in SA1 and family homes in Morriston and Killay — surveyed and fitted by a family team from just along the M4.
Carl Hancock Installations in Swansea
Swansea's housing is as varied as anywhere in South Wales. Victorian and Edwardian terraces climb the hillsides in Uplands, Brynmill and Mount Pleasant, with bay windows, tall openings and awkward access. Morriston, Treboeth and Llansamlet mix older terraces with post-war semis, and newer estates and apartments run from SA1 out to the edges of the city.
That variety is why every job starts with a survey. A bay on a Brynmill terrace may be carrying the wall above it. A hillside house facing the bay takes weather a sheltered one never sees. A new build's openings were sized for the product the developer chose, not necessarily the one you want. Carl looks at each opening before anything is priced.
We are based in Port Talbot, a short run along the M4, so Swansea is on our doorstep — for the survey, the fitting and any aftercare afterwards.

South- and west-facing elevations above the bay take wind-driven rain. Threshold and cill details matter more here, and we specify for the exposure.
Many older Swansea houses have bays that carry load from above. We check and support them properly — see bow and bay windows.
Rear extensions on terraces and semis, usually with three- to five-metre openings suited to a bifold or a slider.

Replacement windows and doors on a house are usually permitted development where they are similar in appearance to the existing ones. Listed buildings, flats and properties in conservation areas can be different — Swansea Council's planning team can confirm, and we flag it at survey if we think it applies.
