Aluminium glazing 20 Years' Experience 5.0★ Google Reviews
Narrow frames, strong colours and big fixed panes where you want them. Surveyed and fitted by a team that works in aluminium every week.
Aluminium glazing
Aluminium is stiffer than uPVC, so the same strength comes from a much narrower section. That is why aluminium windows look the way they do: thin sightlines, crisp corners and glass that runs close to the edge of the opening. It also makes large fixed panes and tall feature windows straightforward.
Modern aluminium windows are thermally broken — an insulating barrier separates the inside of the frame from the outside — so they do not carry the cold the way older aluminium did. They are finished in polyester powder coat, which holds its colour for years and needs little more than a wash.
We fit aluminium windows as replacements and on new builds and extensions, where they are often paired with bifold or sliding doors in the same finish.
Options
Side-hung and top-hung opening sashes — the everyday choice for most rooms.
Sashes that sit flush with the outer frame, for a cleaner, more architectural face to the house.
Floor-to-ceiling panes, gable glazing and picture windows, where one large sheet of glass does the work.
Anthracite and black are the most requested. Any RAL colour, textured or matt, and dual colour if you want white inside.
Double or triple glazing, obscure glass for bathrooms, and toughened or laminated glass wherever Building Regulations call for safety glazing.
Trickle vents where they are required, and escape-sized opening sashes in first-floor bedrooms.
In detail
Both are good products when they are fitted properly. uPVC costs less and suits most houses well. Aluminium costs more, and what you get for the difference is slimmer frames, a wider choice of colours and a finish that suits contemporary houses and extensions.
If you are fitting aluminium doors at the back, matching aluminium windows keeps every frame consistent. If budget matters more than sightlines, a good uPVC window is nothing to apologise for — and we will tell you so.

Questions
Not modern ones. Thermally broken aluminium frames with sealed double or triple glazing meet the same Building Regulations thermal requirements as uPVC.
Wash the frames a couple of times a year and keep the drainage slots clear. Near the coast, rinse them more often — powder-coat guarantees usually expect it.
Yes. Dual-colour frames are common — anthracite outside with white or a lighter shade inside.
