Neath is next door to our Port Talbot base, and the housing is familiar: stone and brick terraces in the town and Briton Ferry, post-war and later semis in Cimla, Bryncoch and Skewen, and new-build streets at Coed Darcy on the old Llandarcy refinery site.
Up the valley towards Tonna, Resolven and Glynneath, houses deal with more rain than the coast does. That makes the seal around every frame — and the condition of the fascias and guttering above it — worth more attention.
